The policy that allowed those Cubans who "made it" to the USA and set foot on land to stay and apply for a visa is ended. The policy- which favored Cubans was that if the person made it to land (feet dry) and set foot (even while wading ashore) in the USA - that person (as long as he or she was Cuban) would not be deported, and could stay to apply for a visa. While those Cubans who were interdicted at sea(feet wet), could not stay and apply for visas. The policy was flawed, by not making Cubans adhere to the same laws as other individuals attempting to sneak in to the USA.
It took him 8 years, but Obama finally got something right.
